CalArts Poster Archive
I just discovered the CalArts Poster Archive on my are.na feed and what an amazing resource! Spanning over 50 years, it provides incredible insight into graphic design movements and their aesthetic concerns over the last half century. There's also a publication that features a selection of 500 posters, but the archive itself (currently) contains all 3237 posters! CalArts plays a significant role in graphic design history, one of the main West Coast staging grounds during the so-called "legibility wars". But it also holds a nice personal connection to me as it was the first school (that I was aware of) to use my writing in one their graduate syllabi.
