Here it finally is! Matter vs. Spirit’s first publication is/is about our logo. This small publication emerged from a need to just make something and move the press/project forward. As modest as it is, making this zine has allowed me to work through some of the definitional questions of what a publication is or can be (as described earlier in this post).
The zine uses a simple one-sheet fold with a thin unprinted rice paper sleeve that has been stapled on. The Matter vs. Spirit logo is stamped onto the cover in blue ink with editioning info written in. The interior is riso-printed in Bright Red with a brief text introducing the micro-press and describing the design process of the logo. It wraps up with a lyrical excerpt of Release.
I think it's pretty cute and feels nice to the touch.
