North Sea Dithered

Between Rotterdam and Amsterdam I decided to take a day trip to Den Haag and the North Sea. I desperately needed to touch the sea. Touching grass just wasn't cutting it anymore! It was really easy to access the beach via public transit and I spent a morning and afternoon there. Staring at the sea; relaxed, sad, nostalgic, proud, content, and sad again... Every time I make it to the ocean, it's a time to take stock of life, to reflect on what's changed since the last time I was at the water's edge. I'm privileged that this happens regularly enough, usually once every 3-4 years, which acts at a good rhythm for my life.
Unrelated, but maybe somehow, I'm getting a bit obsessed with image dithering. Trying to think through it as a critical tool. Its relationship to print halftoning, image reproduction, degradation, and circulation, react GIFS and memes, etc. More on this later, but credit to Ditherit.com for helping to produce this GIF. It's a bit of a large file, the dithering actually increased the file size, which is interesting in itself.
